2007 GALLERY 'A'

EXPRESSIVE
2007 - Available
Encaustic and photocopy transfer/collage on wood, 16" x 12"
The Queen Anne's Lace during the fall of '06 really caught my eye, the shapes were like fireworks, full of gesture and expression.
They inspired many pieces; this being one.

THE TALE OF TODAY
2007 - On Hold
Collage and encaustic on wood - 6" x 12"
Made during the February Retreat in Elora, this small encaustic collage has many layers of meaning for me. During this time of intense exploration, it revealed to me much about my creative process.

GRAFTING - TREE SERIES
2006 - On Hold
Encaustic and photocopy transfer on wood, 18" x 18"
The shapes of trees have been captivating me lately, and the idea of piecing together different trees was intriguing. In this piece, I've played with various photos to create an imaginary tree. The loose grid structure and subtle colours reflect the change of season to winter.

AD INFINITUM - TREE SERIES
2007 - Sold
Encaustic/collage and photocopy transfer on wood, 6"x12"
Subtle colour, gouging and play led me to this piece that explores the ideas of loving deeply, repetition of shapes, and moving away from the center. There is much imbedded in the layers below that tell the story of this piece.

RETREAT - TREE SERIES
2007 - Available
Encaustic/collage and photocopy transfer on wood, 7"x10"
This amazing tree house caught my eye, as the perfect retreat. It evoked memories of summer afternoons spent reading in a backyard maple, the branches and leaves becoming 'home'.

YEARNING - TREE SERIES
2007 - On Hold
Encaustic and photocopy transfer on wood,12"x30"
This tree appears again and again in my art - as I explore the endless possibilities of joining and repetition, then playing with the negative image, as I did in the top section of this one.
