- George P. Gabriel was born in St. John, New Brunswick in 1933. He lived for several years in Halifax, Nova Scotia
- displaying ability in sketching at an early age. During his sales career in Ontario he did some commissioned artwork
- and after retirement he has continued to work in oils. A return visit to Canada's east coast in 1999 inspired the
- paintings of Peggy's Cove in realistic style with full rich color. "The Old Mill: View through Window" is a
- portrayal of the grist mill ruins at Rockwood, Ontario near hometown Guelph.
