Fabulous hotels! Excellent weather! Perfect time of year! Marvellous restaurants! Wonderful food and drink! Outstanding itinerary! Superb arrangements! … and, especially, fantastic tour leader!
These were just a few of the superlatives that were used to describe the March 1999 Cultural Heritage of Spain tour sponsored by Guelph Arts Council. Some of the tour participants gathered recently to share memories and photos, and they just could not seem to
say enough good things about their Spanish experience. They reserved the greatest praise for tour leader Jacques Pauwels,
an experienced lecturer in European history, who has become well known for his ability to turn an ordinary trip into an incredible excursion. “He knows everything!” “He’s so enthusiastic!” “He makes history come alive!”
So pleased were the participants that they are already coming up with suggestions for another trip with Jacques Pauwels. To this end, Guelph Arts Council has begun the planning for a second cultural tour of Europe in the spring of 2000.
