I am an impulsive painter. Often a flurry of energy beckons me to my studio where a Sumi-brush-like image emerges... usually
a group of flowers or a landscape impression. The piece evolves using various and varied materials. By layering,
scratching and building with colour, shape and texture I try to solve the painting puzzle. The process is often
short and exciting or a slow, eventful journey to completion. It is hard to know when to stop.
My recent work draws inspiration from an ongoing relationship with the garden that surround my home and the challenge
of illustrating my recently published cookbook.
