- New Mixed media Collages "Resonance" 2008
- Resonance. Seductive, colours. Propulsive, rhythms. Rigorous structures, yet the freedom to
- wander. Resonances are the exploration of these vibrant words, in sight and in sound, in
- movement and in rest, in harmony and in discord, in art and in music. I created this series with
- Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians" as inspiration, a most amazing piece of music. Jazz is
- improvization, layed down over a recognized underlying structure of notes. It is filled with
- movement, harmony, complexity, emotion, colour, the essential human spirit. Resonances tries to
- visually describe just that.
- Each of the artworks are made up of 1" square paintings on canvas and paper. Laid above these
- sqaures, piano strings resonate movement, rhythm, the human spirit. They are abstractly shaped
- into figures depicting musicians; the drummer, pianist, wind player, bass player, the adoring
- listener taking in every sound, every colour, every resonance.
