Sit back. Relax and enjoy. Let Guelph Arts Council treat you to a culinary journey you will remember for a long, long time. The journey begins with a chauffeur-driven limousine that transports you and your five guests to an exquisite heritage home the location remains a carefully guarded secret on the Saturday closest to Valentines Day. At the door, a butler ushers you into a dining room to a table carefully dressed with flowers, fine china, polished silver and sparkling crystal. After you have been gently seated, you and your guests will be served an elegant, multi-course, gourmet meal a once-in-a-lifetime treat.
First, however, youll need to buy your Fête Romantique tickets to enter the draw for this coveted Grand Prize or the 32 other fabulous prizes including tickets to concerts, theatres and festivals, and certificates to sample the food at some choice local restaurants or the products and services of fine local businesses. Repeatedly, Fête Romantique has proven to be a winner, not only for Guelph Arts Council but for all those people who support this highly successful fundraiser.
Community interest in Fête has grown steadily over the past few years. In fact, for two years running, Fête Romantique has sold out! To give more people an opportunity to be part of the excitement, this years Fete Romantique Chair, Sharon Barker, and the committee decided to increase the number of tickets to 2 000. (Fête tickets make great gifts or stocking stuffers for friends or co-workers).
Vaile Henry, Chair of the Fête Dinner Committee, says her group is busy choosing
the taste delights and the appropriate, accompanying wines that are sure to please the eye as well as the palate. Every detail will be perfect. She cautions that the lucky winner and guests should bring healthy appetites!
Fête Romantique is Guelph Arts Councils major fundraiser. As public funding continues to decline, these funds are critical to the Councils good health. They help support programs such as the annual youth awards, the popular, historical walking tours/booklets and heritage awards. Funds also help the Council publish Arts in Guelph, maintain a resource centre, sponsor workshops, and facilitate and advocate on behalf of the arts in this community. The more money raised, the more Guelph Arts Council can reach out to assist and nurture vital local arts endeavours that make Guelph such a culturally-vibrant and healthy community.
